I went to the LA show with VW last week. On Thursday, they rented out a parking lot so that we could drive fun things, including the GTI Vision Concept. It's totally handbuilt and very much one-off.
But still, 500 horsepower. Even rev-limited (to minimize the chances of someone destroying it), it was fun. And it sounds evil.
What I love most about the photo, though, is that the car's dirty. Extra evidence that despite everything, it's more than just a show pony.
Not a bad way to close the show. From there, I went straight to LAX to wait for the redeye home.
If you like the pic, you should be able to grab a full-res version !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

The front of the car is just sinister, it's like it's saying "C'mon, I won't bite, heh heh heh.."

I dig that the headlamps are wearing shades.

Jalopnik did a write up on this car back in May. I generally don't go for concept-y designs like this, but I really like this car. It's new, it's radical, but it still displays the lineage of its predecessors. I particularly like the holdover of this design element:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
It's my favorite line on my current Mk IV, and I'm glad they've kept it and elaborated on it.
